CreekSide Goes Comparison Shopping
At CreekSide we do everything we can to offer you the most fairly priced, best product available. Despite this, we occasionally field concerns from shoppers about our pricing. There are a number of reasons why our prices are not as competitive prices in larger supermarkets.
- Purchasing Power If you are a member of a wholesale warehouse club, you know that purchasing a case of paper towels will provide you with a much better price than purchasing a few rolls at any other store. Creekside cannot purchase enough volume to be eligible for the massive volume discounts available to large, multi-location supermarkets. Fortunately we source our products from multiple vendors, so we often have the opportunity to select lower prices and higher quality.
- Quality Our purchasers pride themselves on choosing produce that represents the best available quality at the best possible price. As a result, our price per unit may be higher, but you’re getting the quality you pay for.
- Market Conditions It is important to remember that produce prices change frequently and can vary widely as a result of growing conditions, including too much or too little rain. Other factors that can affect pricing include issues in the country of origin, or excessive or limited supply or demand, just to name a few.
Ultimately, we want to ensure that our shoppers receive the best possible shopping experience, so recently we took the time to visit a couple of local competitors to see how we measured up. Here are some of our findings:
