CreekSide Co-op Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing our organization on behalf of the membership. It hires and manages the General Manager, ensures that we operate according to our by-laws, and sets the future direction of the co-op. CreekSide Co-op's Board of Directors consists of between nine and thirteen members, elected from among the general Membership. Elections are held annually and Directors are elected for a term of two years.
Governance
Board members use policies based on the Policy Governance® board management framework in order to provide clear and unified direction for the organization. Being elected to the board makes a director responsible specifically for these tasks. Board members are elected to work together to monitor the store’s and the General Manager’s performance and to set future direction, not to give specific instructions - as individuals or collectively - to our experienced and qualified staff.
